1.1. Overview

Pivot Animator is designed to be a user friendly way of creating 2D stick-man and sprite animations. The basic concept is that objects can be easily moved and positioned by dragging handles. An animation is made up of key frames added to the time-line, which are shown at the top of the screen. Frames can be automatically created between the key frames to speed up the process (inbetweening). This makes Pivot very easy to use and gives the animator full control over figure movement.

New stick figures can be created in the figure builder so that any object can be created and animated. These figures can contain images to create very lifelike characters or objects.

An animation can be exported in a number of common formats for use on web pages or for uploading to YouTube.

With enough time and effort, some very advanced animations can be created with Pivot, despite its relative simplicity.

Minimum System Requirements

Version 5 of Pivot Animator makes use of the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) for smooth real time graphics. It therefore requires higher specifications than version 4 does. The minimum requirements are as follows.
