1.15. Language Files

Pivot Animator supports multiple languages that determine how captions and messages are displayed within the program.

The language can be set from the options window.

Creating Language Files

If you are fluent in English and another language and would like to translate Pivot to that language then you can create your own language file for Pivot. You can then send the language file to others who speak that language to make it easier for them to use Pivot.

The language files can be found in a folder called 'languages' in the location that the Pivot program was installed to. This is normally in C:\Program Files (x86)\Pivot Animator\languages.

Open the English.ini file and read the instructions at the top of the file. Translate all text to the right of an '=' sign and save as a new INI file with the name of your language. Be careful when translating text with a name to the left of the '=' ending in 'Cap' so that you do not increase the length of the text too much.

For languages using extended character sets, such as Chinese, Russian or Greek, make sure to save the .ini file in UCS-2 LE BOM format. Pivot will then be able to load the Unicode characters correctly. This options can be set using Notepad++ from the Encoding menu.

After translating the file, test it in Pivot making sure you check all windows.

If you create a language file then please send it to support@pivotanimator.net so that it can be included in future Pivot Animator releases.
